(The daily prompt for the write one day was, "formal house." A had some fun with words - writing class has been very enjoyable. 🙂 - Kim, CWC)
A formal house is not for me,
Its "Don't touch!" symmetry
Can intimidate
fears exacerbate
Then how approachable would I be?
A job like mine is to welcome and woo
The uptight, the stressed, those who
Come up to the lake
Some rest to partake
And leave behind all of the hullabaloo
Is it too much to ask? sometimes I bemoan
If only they'd unleash a cell phone
and relax, just unwind
Daily cares left behind
Mother nature's embrace in their bones
If they could be present, for a moment in time
In their lives they might find a balance
A fix or a means
Tools they just couldn't see
While stuck in a flat daily grind
My job is complex, plainly not meant to be
just a cleaner, manager, steward of trees
I provide a safe place
Attempt smiles on a face
Allow well-being opportunity
